Music is my favoriteee way to introduce poetry to my high schoolers!

This drag-and-drop practice on Google Slides is a great way for your students to review 15 common poetic devices using song lyrics! I bet you and/or your students will definitely start smiling and singing to some familiar lyrics, new and old.

Devices included:

alliteration, assonance, consonance, simile, metaphor, onomatopoeia, personification, hyperbole, oxymoron, repetition, allusion, pun, anaphora, epistrophe, and enjambment

*Answer key included!

***Music clips NOT INCLUDED - you can decide if you maybe want to play certain songs while students are working on the assignment (they love that), and/or have a mini-competition by seeing how many songs your students can find/name after they finish the slides.

Hope you enjoy! Let me know how it goes :)
